ProBiz Cup
The ProBiz Cup sees the ten Grandmasters from the London Chess Classic pairing up with leaders from business for a fun, but very competitive team tournament. Amateurs and professionals meet on the morning of the event and have one hour to prepare together before the action begins. Each team then plays three rounds of rapidplay chess, with the players taking alternate moves. No consultation is allowed but each team may call two one-minute time-outs to confer about the game.
Bids are invited (starting at £2,000) from keen amateur players for a place in the 2024 ProBiz Cup. Please indicate your choice of Grandmaster from the line-up of the London Chess Classic. The highest bidder for each Grandmaster will gain a place in the competition. All money raised will go towards supporting the work of Chess in Schools and Communities. Please send your bids to CSC Trustee Stephen Meyler.
This year’s ProBiz Cup will take place on Wednesday 4th December at a central London venue.
